One of the biggest causes of stress for most families is financial pressure. Are you battling to pay the bills? Want a holiday? Are you living from pay check to pay check?
Research shows that up to 70% of arguments in the family home are related to money. That is why it is vital that you take control of this area of your life and stop living day to day and pay check to pay check.
Alot of people cringe when the word budget is mentioned. Do you have a family budget? What are your financial goals? If you lost your job, how long could you survive?
We have teamed up with Help My Finances to help you takt control of this very important area of your life.
One of the best books that I ever had the pleasure to read was 'Multiple Streams of Income' by Robert Allen. If you have not read this book I would suggest that you get a copy and sit down and read it. If you head over to Robert Allen's website he has some freebies that you can sign up for.
The core principle behind this book is to have a number of different income streams. So, rather than having all of your eggs in the one basket, you have a variety of different income streams. In this way you are not totally exposed to a downturn in the stockmarket or a crash in real estate.
The challenge for this in terms of work life balance is that having to manage all of those different income streams can be a challenge. That is where you need to consider things like outsourcing, or maybe employing someone for a few hours per week to do some of the menial tasks that you don't need to do.
Each time I start a new activity or project I sit down and map out the different tasks that need to be performed in order to complete the task.
For an extreme example of outsourcing check out this book 'The Four Hour Work Week' by Timothy Ferris.
